The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵÍø (CWI) is taking a bold step into the future of education with an innovative partnership with , a local startup focused on responsible, educator-driven artificial intelligence solutions. This collaboration is set to transform the way faculty and students engage with AI, offering customized learning experiences that enhance comprehension, skill development, and AI literacy.
Unlike generic AI tools, GuardRailz AI empowers faculty to build course-specific AI assistants that align directly with their curriculum. These tools allow instructors to monitor student engagement, personalize learning, and guide AI usage responsibly within the classroom. For students, this means access to AI-powered resources that support their learning journey while helping them develop essential AI skills for the modern workforce.
“Artificial Intelligence is clearly a transformative advancement that will shape all our lives,” said CWI President Gordon Jones. “As a college dedicated to student learning, we strive to provide not only traditional knowledge but also the latest insights from emerging technologies like AI. We’re excited to lean into how AI can inform, educate, and advance the work of our students and faculty.”
Brian Jagger, Founder of GuardRailz AI, highlighted the platform’s unique advantage for educators.
"The key difference with GuardRailz AI is that it’s designed for educators first,” he said. “Other AI platforms give students access to a chatbot, but we built a system that puts faculty in control — allowing them to create AI-driven experiences that adapt to each student and align with coursework.”
Expanding AI Education at CWI
Beyond this partnership, CWI is making AI education a priority by launching new courses and resources that equip students and the community with the tools they need to thrive in an AI-driven world:
- Applied Associate Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing — A career-focused program preparing students for high-demand jobs in AI and cloud technology.
- AI Foundations Course — A one-month, non-credit course (developed in partnership with GuardRailz) designed to teach participants how to effectively use AI tools and write better prompts.
- CWI’s AI Literacy Center — Housed within the CWI Writing Center, this new initiative will serve as a campus-wide resource for AI support, education, and ethical discussions. Students can access guidance on AI policies, responsible AI usage, and strategies for integrating AI into their learning.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries, CWI remains at the forefront, ensuring students are prepared to navigate and leverage this evolving technology.
