Joni Carlo is a San Francsico native and this, above all else, is the most crucial thing you must know about her if you are considering taking classes from her (me) as she brings that city flare, uniqueness and authenticity to all the courses she teaches. The second crucial thing to know is that she is in love with philosophy. This quickly becomes apparent to any student graced by her presence as the contagious passion she has for the subject oozes out of every pore. You can’t help but become infused with the same frenzied excitement! Even if you take her COMM101 course, expect to get a bit of philosophy thrown into the mix.
Joni received her Master of Arts in communication theory, a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, is working on a Master of Science degree in forensic psychology with an emphasis on sex offender behavior, has one year plus of PhD track psychology courses, is a published author, an RYT200h yoga teacher, a somatic experience trauma-informed practitioner, has her own life-coaching business and, oh yeah, has an extensive performance/theater background.
She is the faculty advisor for the Geeks’n’Weebs Club and one of the advisors for the Philosophy Club.
