Special Course Fees

Special course fees, added to the cost of tuition for select classes at 蘑菇视频网 (CWI), are used to pay for special equipment, labs, and materials.
- In striving to provide accessible and affordable learning opportunities for students, CWI makes a conscious effort to apply fees reasonably, affordably, and sparingly.
- Students may request to opt-out of select special course fees, as noted in the list of approved fees.
Purpose of Fees
A special course fee may be applied to a class for a number of purposes, such as:
- The class includes resources or opportunities not common to general courses and incurs costs beyond those captured in the College’s base tuition and fees.
- The College is able to purchase materials or supplies at a volume that provides a cost benefit to students while ensuring consistency of learning materials.
- Materials or supplies are guaranteed for all students and can be provided to students from the first day of learning to ensure success.
- Materials or supplies are utilized to ensure the safety of students or to maintain fidelity of machinery or equipment in the learning environment.
Opt-Out Process
In accordance with federal Department of Education regulations, the College must provide students the ability to opt-out of eligible special course fees, as noted in the approved list of fees.
- Once registered for a class with a special course fee, a student may choose to opt out of eligible fees no later than the first day of the semester.
- Students who choose to opt out of a special course fee accept personal responsibility for acquiring the required materials or supplies as they are specifically intended to ensure preparedness for the class.
- Students can begin the opt-out process by setting up an appointment with the program Department Chair prior to the start of the semester to confirm eligibility for opt out.
- The student will complete an opt-out form, provided by the Department Chair, and submit the completed form to One Stop Student Services.
Once an opt-out request has been submitted, the student's account balance will be adjusted within 10 business days removing the special course fee charge. Opt-out adjustments cannot be reversed.
